What If
As darkness falls and night begins
Left to my thoughts that start within
Stare into nothing, dreams taking over
Once upon a time, coming after another Remember the choices that have been made
Luck of the draw but luck will fade
Expect the worst, come what may
And you will live to see another day What if you knew but didn't care?
What if it didn't lead you anywhere?
What if you sang and noone heard?
What if you never knew what you learned?
What if you chose left, not right
and couldn't tell the difference
between dark and light?
What if you never felt that kiss?
What if you were plagued by these what if's? Waiting alone for this phase to shift
Securing a place, safe from the rift
Make a wish, we've walked the path
Living the end of the aftermath Take a step away from the past
Take only the things that'll make it last
Sunset falling with the rising sun
Conflicting emotions will be as one What if you knew but didn't care?
What if it didn't lead you anywhere?
What if you sang and noone heard?
What if you never knew what you learned?
What if you chose left, not right
and couldn't tell the difference
between dark and light?
What if you never felt that kiss?
What if you were plagued by these what if's?
